FAQs
Do I need a referral to begin physical therapy?
Referral requirements depend on your insurance provider. It’s advisable to contact your insurance company to determine if a referral is necessary. If required, please obtain a referral from your primary care physician before scheduling your appointment.
How do I schedule an appointment for physical therapy?
To schedule an appointment, please call our office at 716.204.3200 during normal business hours (Monday through Thursday: 8 AM–5 PM; Friday: 8 AM–4:30 PM).
Do I have to be a UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Patient?
No, you do not. Our Physical Therapy team gladly accepts any patient who would benefit from therapy on a direct-access basis, meaning you do not have to be referred by a UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine physician. However, we encourage you to check with your referring physician and insurance carrier to see what may or may not be covered for you.
