FAQs
What is a dental emergency?
A dental emergency can be a toothache or swelling in the mouth as a result of a deep cavity, dental fracture or infection.
At what age should my child first see the dentist?
We follow the guidelines from the American Dental Association and recommend a child have their first dental exam either 6 months after their first tooth comes in -or- by their first birthday – whichever comes first. Early first visits allow our dentists to perform a dental exam and cleaning, introduce the patient to a friendly dental office, check for any potential dental or developmental issues and discuss important issues with the parents concerning oral hygiene instructions, diet, and development of the teeth/oral structures.
What should I bring to my child’s first dental appointment?
A parent or legal guardian will be required at an initial dental appointment in our office to provide a detailed medical history for the child including any allergies to medications (penicillin, amoxicillin, etc.) or environmental factors (food allergies, latex, etc.), any current medications your child may be taking, dental and medical insurance information, the name of your child’s physician, and any previous surgeries or hospitalizations that your child has experienced in the past.
What dental insurances do you take?
