At the Anschutz Medical Campus and at several therapy care centers.

What might an OT assessment include?

An occupational therapy assessment includes developing an occupational profile, looking at the child’s skills, abilities and environmental demands, and determining adaptations needed to address impairments or concerns.

Who should be present for visits?

The child’s parent or primary guardian should be present to ensure consistent communication and care at home.

What happens after the initial OT visit?

The team creates a treatment plan in connection with the child’s other medical providers, which may include inpatient or outpatient services, home therapy plans and education.

Who are the clinicians in the OT program?

Licensed occupational therapists and licensed occupational therapy assistants, with possible support from therapy aides.

What specialties or training do therapists hold?

Many therapists are certified in sensory integration, neuro-developmental treatment, manual therapy and feeding and swallowing dysfunction.
