Do I need an appointment to visit urgent care?
An appointment is not needed, but a same-day appointment, when available, may be scheduled at any of our Central Coast urgent care centers to help minimize your wait time. Please call(805) 332-8200 to make an appointment.
Can I still go to the urgent care if I don’t have insurance?
Yes, urgent care is available even if you don’t have insurance. Self-pay options are available, and payment is due at the time of service. If you have billing questions, our team can help review the cost of your visit during check-in or before you leave.
What is the difference between urgent care and the ER?
Urgent care treats illnesses or injuries that require prompt attention but are not life-threatening. This includes conditions such as the common cold, flu, minor cuts or sprains. The ER is for serious or life-threatening conditions like chest pain, stroke symptoms, difficulty breathing, severe injuries or uncontrollable bleeding. If you think you may be experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately.

Our urgent care providers can coordinate with your primary care provider (PCP) to support continuity of care and help guide next steps after your visit. With your permission, we can send a summary of your urgent care visit to your PCP.
