What is the fellowship program duration?
This fellowship is a one-year ACGME-accredited training program.
Where do fellows train?
Our fellows train at selective community and academic sites as part of robust interprofessional teams in the adult as well as the pediatric world.
What is the board pass rate?
We are proud of our 100% board pass rate.
What are typical rotation components?
- 6-7 months inpatient consults at Hennepin Healthcare, University of Minnesota Medical Center, Regions Medical Center - 2 months with HealthPartners Hospice - 2-3 months at the inpatient hospice unit at the VA - 2-4 weeks with the pediatric palliative care team at Children’s - The continuity clinic in adult palliative care at the University of Minnesota is every other week.
What pediatric experiences are included?
The pediatric fellow completes 9 months in dedicated pediatric rotations, including experiences at Children’s Hospital and Clinics, Gillette Children’s Rehab Hospital, and Masonic Children’s, with exposure to HealthPartners Hospice and the inpatient palliative care unit.
What facilities and teams are involved?
Includes ECMO program, LVAD program, BMT, solid organ transplant; large Hospice; HealthPartners Hospice; cancer center integration; Palliative Care Unit with an extensive interprofessional team.
What is the fellowship’s clinical setting?
Inpatient consult service at Level 1 trauma center; embedded in M Health Palliative Care Clinic; referrals from cardiology, pulmonology, and neurology; pediatric continuity clinic.
