What should I expect at my first physical therapy appointment?
During your first visit, your physical therapist will perform an initial evaluation, discuss your plan of care, and set goals. Your treatment may include exercise; manual therapy; modalities such as electrical stimulation, moist heat, or ice; and patient education, including a home exercise program. The frequency and duration of your treatment will be determined.
What should I bring to my first physical therapy appointment?
On your first visit, you’ll need to bring your physician referral or prescription (if applicable), your insurance card, registration forms, ID, and co-payment (if applicable). You may also bring a change of clothes.
